Laser Hair Removal Surgery: Body Hair, Back, Leg And Facial Hair Removal

Unwanted body hair is one of the most hated health and beauty nuisances with which people struggle. Whether embarrassing facial hair, scratchy leg hair, or excessive back hair, it seems as though it never goes away. Shaving only cuts of the hair at the skin level. In as little as a day the hair begins to grow back. Plucking and waxing can be extremely painful, depending on the sensitive area being treated. And unfortunately, the unwanted hair still grows back. More people are turning toward laser hair removal surgery as a longer-lasting, cosmetic procedure to remove their objectionable hair.

Laser hair removal surgery involves a low energy laser absorbed by the hair follicle's pigment. The laser treatment passes through the skin unabsorbed. For this reason, anesthesia is usually not needed; however some stinging is to be expected. Laser hair removal surgery can be performed on all areas of the body including back hair, underarm hair, leg hair, bikini line and facial hair. The procedure can last anywhere from a few minutes to several hours, depending on the area being treated. The patient must wear goggles to protect their eyes from the laser.

One benefit of laser hair removal surgery is multiple hairs can be removed at a time. Also, the smooth hairlessness can last for months, or as long as years. Immediately following laser hair removal surgery, some people experience redness or swelling. Sunscreen is always recommended on treated areas exposed to the sun. Also, occasionally people will need to use special skin care products after having laser hair removal surgery.

Laser hair removal surgery is not for everyone. The laser has a more difficult time locating lighter, less responsive hair, such as blond, gray or white. Also, tan or darkly pigmented skin is often a challenge and not recommended for going through laser hair removal surgery.

Everybody has their own personal reasons for removing unwanted hair. Women often feel more feminine or aesthetically beautiful with less hair on the body. Body hair is not quite as despised on men as it is on women. However some areas, such as the back, are undesirable when covered in hair. For people who are tired of spending loads of dough on temporary solutions, laser hair removal surgery is a good option to consider.
